If you have a hankering to get away from it all, the wind may be whispering your name to join us on a Colorado high country pack trip. Riding to elevations of  9,000-12,000 feet, you could see elk, deer, moose, pika, marmot, soaring eagles or ptarmigan (the arctic grouse that changes color with the seasons).Breath in air that has been filtered by the evergreens-clean and pungent. Experience the rare opportunity to be in a place where man has not yet altered the ecology. 

Our pack trips will take you into the Weminuche Wilderness or the South San Juan Wilderness in the Rio Grande and San Juan Forests. The scenic highlights of your pack trip along the Continental Divide of America provide magnificent views of hundreds of square miles of mountain terrain stretching in all four directions.

We take only one party at a time so round up your family and/or friends to create a trip to suit you. High country lakes offer fishing opportunities, or you may choose to take horseback rides from base camp each day.  Maybe you want to hike, take pictures, read a book, relax among the wildflowers in a mountain meadow, or sit beside a stream. The possibilities are orchestrated by what nature has to offer: sunrises, sunsets, bird song and thunderstorms, each day is new!

Let us custom design a trip to suit your group (3-8 people, 3-6 days).  We furnish all saddle horses and pack horses, camp equipment, guide/wrangler, camp cook, and food. Just bring your sleeping bag and personal gear. Due to the elevation a down parka and raincoat are recommended. Our pack trip season is July and August.
